The QS Online MBA Rankings: Asia-Pacific 2023 are now live! 

The leading online MBA programmes are reviewed regionally for the first time this year – eight institutions are ranked in the QS Online MBA Rankings: Asia-Pacific 2023 across four indicators: ‘Class Experience’, ‘Class Profile’, ‘Employability’ and ‘Faculty and Teaching’.   

The Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at the University of New South Wales Business School tops the rankings for offering the best online MBA programme in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. 


Dharma Simorangkir, President Director at Microsoft Indonesia said in a 2022 interview with QS that institutions in the APAC region should continue to push the boundaries of innovation in online education: 

“As is the case for many other institutions and organisations, education institutions, including higher education, rely on technology in unprecedented ways. As a result, solutions, which were once ‘good enough’ for learning, may no longer meet their needs. This presents a unique opportunity to reimagine how we can use new technology for education institutions to empower educators and unlock new possibilities for all learners.

The top institutions in the QS Online MBA Rankings: Asia-Pacific 2023

3) University of Otago Business School 

4) RMIT University  

5) La Trobe University 

6) Deakin Business School 

7) Amity Directorate of Distance & Online Education 

8) Curtin Graduate School of Business 

As the Australian Graduate School of Management earned first place in the rankings with the maximum overall score of 100, they excelled in certain indicators. In ‘Employability’ — which is designed to indicate the success of a student’s career development after completing their education — the institution scored 85.8, while in ‘Faculty and Teaching’ — which represents the level of teaching standard of each programme — they scored 86.9. 

In the ‘Class Experience’ indicator, which measures the support an institution provides for their online students, four institutions have performed flawlessly with a score of 100 — namely, Macquarie Business School, University of Otago Business School, Deakin Business School and Amity Directorate of Distance & Online Education. 

RMIT University received the highest score in ‘Class Profile’ with 76.6. This indicator illustrates diversity within a programme by taking into account students’ average work experience, their competitiveness and the diversity and internationality of the cohort.
