QS and SI-UK to launch new student enrolment support service

International students seeking to study in the UK can access a new enrolment support service with the announcement of a new partnership between QS and SI-UK.

With UK universities seeking to remain attractive study destinations for international students in a post-Brexit world, QS Quacquarelli Symonds and SI-UK have today announced a new partnership designed to provide an innovative free counselling service to support prospective international students.

Despite the disruptions to international student mobility flows created by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, QS Student Pulse surveys find that only 6% of prospective internationally mobile students have been discouraged from continuing with their plan to study overseas. Despite the dual shocks created by the pandemic and the UK’s departure from the Erasmus+ program, British universities reported a 6% increase in overseas non-EU applications in 2020.

It is in light of this continued demand among international students for British higher education, the increasing array of available courses and prospective destinations, and in view of QS’s and SI-UK’s mission to help motivated people fulfil their potential by empowering them to make informed decisions about their study and career choices, that this partnership has been launched.

In order to better support students and ensure that they are aware of the changing landscape, QS and SI-UK’s new support service partnership will be accessible from both QS and SI-UK platforms. It will be online at TopUniversities.com and TopMBA.com, as well as during QS’ 300 higher education events across the world. For SI-UK, the support will be available at studyin-uk.com and across its platform of over 25 country websites, and available from over 62 offices in 28 countries. The QS-SI partnership support service will offer the following insights and benefits to students:

  • Supporting students with full advice, guidance, application and document support, in addition to university visits and meetings—from all 62 SI-UK global offices, to shortlist and select the right higher education course, enabled by unique QS and SI-UK data insights
  • Personalised attention from highly experienced SI-UK counsellors, who successfully assisted with over 112,000 university applications to UK universities in 2020; ensuring prospective students the best advice and support to institutions matching their academic profile, and providing information on the institutions best ranked in their subject of interest, offer great employability prospects, or are providing excellent teaching experiences during the pandemic.
  • Access to QS’s & SI-UK’s experienced counsellors across the world, who advised, and matched, and assisted to apply over 100,000 students a year at QS & SI-UK events and offices.
  • More thorough end-to-end support for students interested in studying in the UK, including all advisory, guidance, application, document and visa application support provided by SI-UK.

Nunzio Quacquarelli, CEO of QS, said: “QS is committed to empowering students to fulfil their potential by making the right educational choice for their individual needs. Our existing services, including rankings and QS Star ratings, enable students to differentiate between the wide array of available choices, and help institutions to shine a light on their strengths. Our partnership with SI-UK will now enable us to offer a deeper level of service and engagement with students around the world, who may otherwise not be empowered to pursue attractive international study options.”
