This year’s QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017 was compiled by analysing millions of papers and hundreds and thousands of surveys, and includes four new subjects: Anatomy & Physiology, Hospitality & Leisure Management, Sports-related Subjects, and Theology, Divinity & Religious Studies.
There are 46 different subjects included along with five composite subject areas.
We’ve summarised our top five interesting takeaways from the university rankings to save you time:
- The University of Harvard dominates the most subjects, topping 15 tables.
- UK universities take just over 33% of all top-three positions and over 25% of all top-10 positions. Despite this success, these numbers are lower than last year.
- The University of Cambridge has more subjects in the top 10 than any other institution in the world.
- Nations in both Eastern Europe and Asia – most notably Russia and China – increase their share in the ranking.
