What are the QS World University Rankings?
Since its launch in 2004, the QS World University Rankings remains the most relevant and referenced higher education rankings on the market. Our rankings provide reliable insights that inform higher education policies and guide students globally, by identifying the world’s leading universities based on specific performance metrics.
What will the QS World University Rankings 2025 feature?
For our 20th edition of the QS World University Rankings in 2023, we announced some changes in our methodology. Here’s a reminder of what they were:
Sustainability
Introduced in 2023, the ‘Sustainability’ metric recognises the growing importance of sustainable development to students, institutions and employers, and the world – which is why we have continued to improve the quality of our data for this indicator .
This metric evaluates not only an institution’s sustainable practices but also its influence on global sustainability through teaching, research, and partnerships. QS was the first major world ranking to include sustainability as a core metric.
Employability outcomes
Given the importance of employability to students, we have also worked to refine our ‘Employability outcomes’ indicator. This indicator now more accurately reflects the percentage of students securing paid employment within 15 months of graduation, and the impact of an institution’s alumni in their respective fields and public achievements.
